Dana Wants D.C. To Move Up And Challenge Stipe Miocic In Super-Fight

Two intense title fights went down inside the octagon on Saturday night, Jan. 20. Now UFC President Dana White wants to see the two title winners face off in a super-fight.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Boston, Massachusetts for UFC 220 on Saturday night, offering fight fans an exciting event from inside the TD Garden.

In the night’s co-main event, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier made short work of rising challenger Volkan Oezdemir. The champion earned a TKO finish over Oezdemir in the second round.

Headlining the main card, UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic made a successful defense of his title with a dominant performance over knockout artist Francis Ngannou. Now the UFC president has come forward to reveal that he is hopeful for a super-fight between none other than Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic.

As provided by UFC on FOX:

“‘I don’t see why he couldn’t fight at heavyweight.’

” @danawhite asked @dc_mma if he’d be interested in a title shot with @StipeMiocicUFC. Can we get this, please? #UFC220″

Daniel Cormier was initially a heavyweight competitor in his mixed martial arts career, leaving fight fans hope that the champion may one day make a move back to the heavyweight class for a super-fight with Miocic.
