Jon Jones Reacts To D.C.’s UFC 220 Win, Says, “My Best Is Yet To Come”

After UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier’s stunning victory, rival Jon Jones has decided to offer fight fans a new statement.

Reigning champion Daniel Cormier and former title holder Jon Jones have formed quite the rivalry over the years. Jones is the only fighter to ever defeat Cormier, having bested the champion back in 2015.

The two mixed martial arts warriors faced off again in 2017 at UFC 214. Jones earned a knockout victory over Cormier, but the win was short lived.

It was later revealed that Jones had failed a drug test in relation to UFC 214. As a result, Jones was once again stripped of his title and his knockout victory was overturned to a no contest. Cormier was reinstated as the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion.

Cormier made his first octagon performance since his tussle with Jones at the recent UFC 220. The champion faced off against Volkan Oezdemir, earning a dominant TKO victory over the title challenger.

Taking to Twitter, Jon Jones has now decided to release an interesting statement to his fight fans.

“Thanks brother, my best is yet to come”

The tweet was in response to a fight fan calling Jones still the champion. While the social media message is not a direct response to UFC 220, the fighter most certainly has his scuffle with Cormier at UFC 214 on his mind. Jones most recently passed a polygraph test to claim his innocence of intentionally taking a banned substance.
