Frankie Edgar Releases Statement On Booking Title Fight vs. Holloway, And He’s Pumped Up!

Frankie Edgar

Yesterday, UFC officials announced their main event for the upcoming March UFC 222 event. Now, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar reacts to the news he’ll be facing Max Holloway for the UFC featherweight title.

UFC 222

UFC 222 goes down on March 3 at T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas. The fight card airs live on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Frankie Edgar is a Hawaiian fighter killer, as he’s undefeated against the island state. Edgar will look to continue that dominance by finally capturing his second division world title and secure his place in the UFC history books.

The bout was originally slated for 2017, however a last minute training injury forced Edgar out of the fight, and placed Jose Aldo in a redemption rematch against Holloway that saw the Brazilian soundly defeated.

Holloway is on a nearly unmatched domination streak, one that Edgar hopes to halt when he finally gets a chance to face another Hawaiian fighter.

Taking to his Instagram, Edgar reacted to the new booking for the very first time, and he’s pumped up!
