Ngannou’s Corner Under Fire For Doing Everything Wrong In UFC 220 Title Fight

The corner for Francis Ngannou is now getting some heat from fight fans for some allegedly erroneous tactics during the fighter’s recent title shot.

Rising UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou earned a shot at the title when he brutally knocked out former top contender and former K-1 champion Alistair Overeem. With that in mind, Ngannou’s title shot did not go the fighter’s way.

Ngannou went toe-to-toe with reigning UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 220 in Boston, Massachusetts on Saturday night, Jan. 20. The two mixed martial arts warriors ultimately went the distance, with Miocic earning a dominant unanimous decision victory over his opponent.

In between rounds, Ngannou’s cornermen could be seen applying towels to the fighter. The already overheated fighter was being warmed up between rounds, rather than cooled off with ice. With Ngannou’s cardio having received serious criticism after his performance, the alleged mistake by the cornermen is now getting some heat from fight fans.

Beyond that, the fighter’s corner was rarely heard offering advice to Ngannou during the rounds. Check out a photo of Ngannou having towels applied to him by his corner down below:
