No Wonder He Left The UFC, “Big Country’s” Making 4x His Small UFC Salary Under Bellator

Heavyweight fighter Roy Nelson made his debut under the banner of Bellator MMA in 2017, cementing the fighter’s transition out of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). With that in mind, it would appear that the fighter’s pay may have substantially increased since the recent shift in promotions.

Bellator MMA has been pulling fighters out from the UFC roster for some time now. More to the point, many of the former UFC competitors appear to financially be blossoming with the new promotion. Former UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald, for instance, has been reported to be making over $400,000 per fight.

As reported by The Roar, Roy Nelson made an estimated $521,000 in six years of competition under the UFC banner. The fighter’s salary averaged $86,833 per year.

Seeing how MacDonald is able to pull almost half a million per fight, it would appear that Roy Nelson shift to the Bellator promotion has perhaps seen a massive shift in the fighter’s paygrade.
