Robbie Lawler Update: 8 Days After Knee Surgey, And He’s Rehabbing For UFC Return

Former UFC welterweight world champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler suffered a severe knee injury in the middle of his recent main event loss to former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos.

UFC president Dana White broke the news on the severity of the injury, during a recent talk to yahoo sports.

The UFC boss stated, “The guy’s leg was destroyed. Blew his ACL and meniscus and every other thing that’s in your knee out in like the third round. Wobbled over to the fence, laid against it and asked dos Anjos to come in so they could just bang it out. Robbie Lawler went to the fifth round.”

Despite the injuries, Robbie Lawler completed the five round main event, virtually on just one usable leg. But, he was thoroughly dominated in the process, and dos Anjos has emerged as a contender to the world title.

Now, 8 days after having surgery to repair his knee, we get an update from Lawler himself, on the progress of his recovery.
