Anderson Silva Lays Out His Defense Strategy For Latest Failed Drug Test

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has come forward with a statement concerning his recent failed drug test. The UFC legend claims tainted supplements may have caused the flagged test.

Anderson Silva first failed a drug test back in 2015, causing his octagon war with Nick Diaz at UFC 183 to be overturned into a no contest. In 2017, the former champion was set to face off against Kelvin Gastelum in the UFC’s debut in Shanghai, China.

However, Silva failed his drug test leading up to the fight and was consequently pulled from the event. Speaking to TMZ Sports, Silva has now come forward with his reasoning for the failed drug test.

“Maybe the supplements I’m using are contaminated. Because if I’m taking steroids, I’m stupid. I’m too old. I’m not starting my career. I’m finishing it.”
