Bellator MMA Fighter Brings New Meaning To The Term “Froggy Style”

Mixed martial arts promotion Bellator MMA was in Uncasville, Connecticut on Friday, Feb. 16, for Bellator 194. The exciting fight card featured a night full of exhilarating performances. However, perhaps none of the matches kicked off quite as uniquely as this one.

Lightweights Ross Richardson and Ronie Arana Leon went toe-to-toe during the night’s event, with Leon electing to take a different approach to meeting his opponent in the center of the cage. While blasting forward with a superman punch or an out of control cartwheel kick would have been plenty mesmerizing, Leon decided to take things up a notch.

Right out of the gate, Leon went to all fours and began hopping towards his opponents like a frog. Perhaps even more impressive than the fighter’s apparent lack of necessity for practical technique, the stunt actually worked.

Leon managed to catch his opponent seemingly off guard and take him down to the canvas with a frog leap takedown of sorts. Check it out in the video above.

Leon would go on to lose the fight, however. Richardson earned a TKO victory in the second round.
