Breaking: Mayweather vs. McGregor Rematch Talks Underway, As Floyd Readies For UFC Debut

No one thought the first fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather would ever happen, yet it did. And not many believe that a second fight, under UFC rules, would ever happen either, but now reports are out pointing that the deal is underway.

This all comes courtesy of combat sports insider Gareth Davies, who by all accounts is the U.K.’s version of Ariel Helwani.

If you don’t know who Davies is, he’s the leading combat sports journalist overseas. He has his own T.V. show, he’s cage side and ring side to every major UFC and boxing event, and his reputation is pristine.

In a new statement, Davies revealed that his inside sources are confirming that negotiations for the rematch are currently underway.

Talksport.com has it:

According to boxing expert Gareth A Davies, talks are underway for a lucrative MMA bout which which could be worth up to half a billion dollars.

The pair met in a lucrative boxing match in August when UFC Lightweight Champion McGregor was stopped during the tenth round in a glitzy Las Vegas affair.

However, the mixed martial artist could get his chance to avenge the loss inside the octagon.

Speaking to Jim White on talkSPORT, Davies exclusively revealed: “My soundings are that there are a lot of talks going on in the background, there are a lot of talks around people with Mayweather.”

“There are a lot of talks about him potentially having an MMA fight with Conor McGregor.

“Conor McGregor had no chance in a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.

“People will tune in to see Mayweather get stopped by Conor McGregor and it won’t affect his boxing record.

“I think it’s going to happen and I think it will be a three, four, five hundred million dollar fight again.”
