Conor McGregor Drops Major Hint That He Wants The Diaz Trilogy Next

It would appear that UFC superstar Conor McGregor is hinting to a possible trilogy rematch against heated rival Nate Diaz.

Nate Diaz shocked the world when he knocked out “Notorious” back in 2016. McGregor would return to earn a razor thin majority decision in their rematch, leaving the two mixed martial arts warriors 1-1 in their rivalry.

Nate Diaz has since gone to social media to announce his peaked interest in returning the octagon. Taking to Instagram, the fighter stated:

“Sick of sitting around waiting for you f**kers to do sh*t there’s no excitement in this fight sh*t step your games up I’ll see u around may,June. Sincerely The Real Champ.”

Now “Notorious” appears to be considering a trilogy match against the Stockton native. Taking to social media, McGregor gave a shout out to Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier for their historic rivalry and iconic trilogy.

Over Instagram, McGregor stated:

“Standing next to a rare signed photo of Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. Two fighting greats who blessed all of us fight fans around the world with one of the most iconic rivalries the fight game has ever seen.

“3 amazing contests that changed the lives of both men. Mentally, physically and spiritually. This rivalry lasted right to the end of time. Amazing.”

Frazier and Ali’s first match up is often referred to as the “Fight of the Century,” as the bout was a legendary war for the heavyweight title between two undefeated boxers. Frazier ultimately walked away with a unanimous decision victory.

The two pugilist legends faced off once again on January 28, 1974. Ali earned a unanimous decision victory over his opponent, putting the boxers at 1-1 in their rivalry.

Commonly referred to as the “Thrilla in Manila,” the trilogy rematch between Ali and Frazier would go down as one of the greatest fights in sport’s history. Ali defeated Frazier with a technical knockout.

Reading between the lines of the latest social media message from “Notorious,” it would appear that Conor McGregor’s desire to cultivate a grand legacy within his career has potentially inspired the UFC superstar to give the fans the rematch they have all been waiting for.
