Just a couple of weeks ago, UFC sweetheart Paige VanZant announced her engagement with her new boyfriend.
And while we all know who Paige is, following her lengthy stint in the UFC coupled with a finalist run on Dancing With The Stars, little is known about the man who took her off the market for good.
Paige’s fiance’s name is Austin “AK-47” Vanderford. He’s a SOU Wrestling 2x NAIA All-American and National Champion wrestler, who trains out of the same camp as Paige, Gracie Barra Portland.
With his dominant amateur wrestling pedigree, the 27 year old made his transition into MMA back in March of last year. He’s undefeated at 3-0, with one TKO, one decision, and one submission (rear naked choke) to his credit.
Austin fights for Victory Fighting Championship, which airs on UFC fight pass, and his woman is already calling for the UFC to give him a ring.
And while just 3-0, it’s hard to say where his potential lies as an MMA fighter, but one thing is for sure, Paige VanZant is behind him.
