UFC 221 Pay-Per-View Buys Bottom Out, Garner Extremely Low Buy Rate

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Perth, Western Australia for the promotion’s most recent fight card. This time around, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion hosted UFC 221.

The exciting event featured a middleweight war between former champion Luke Rockhold and tough contender Yoel Romero. Romero was not viable to fight for the interim title, as the competitor missed weight.

However, Rockhold still stood a chance at earning the interim belt. In the end, Romero still walked away with a brutal knockout victory that earned the fighter a shot at the undisputed belt.

Reporter Jed I. Goodman has since taken to social media to reveal that the pay-per-view event did not sell as well as perhaps intended. The pay-per-view has been reported as only earning 130 buys, making for another low earning card for the promotion.
