UFC welterweight warriors Yancy Medeiros and Donald Cerrone went to battle inside the octagon over the weekend. While “Cowboy” put on a stunning performance, many fight fans are still talking about Medeiros’ moment with his opponent’s grandmother after the fight.
Cerrone and Medeiros headlined the weekend’s highly anticipated fight card for UFC Fight Night 126. The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion was in Austin, Texas on Sunday night, Feb. 18, to host the exciting event.
Inside the Frank Erwin Center, Cerrone pulled himself out of a three fight losing streak by knocking out Medeiros in the first round of their main event match up.
Leading up to the fight, Cerrone and Medeiros showed a great level of respect and sportsmanship to each other, with that relationship carrying over shortly after their exciting fight. After being knocked out by Cerrone, Medeiros leaped over the cage and gave Cerrone’s grandmother a hug.
