Demetrious Johnson Offers Words Of Encouragement To Frankie Edgar Following UFC 222 Loss

Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar suffered a brutal loss over the weekend. Now UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson has come forward to give some advice for any fighter coming off of a tough defeat.

Frankie Edgar has been hunting for a title fight against UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway for some time now. The two mixed martial arts warriors were initially set to face off at UFC 218, but Edgar was forced to pull out of the match up due to an injury.

The fighting phenoms were rescheduled for UFC 222. However, Holloway pulled out of the title fight due to an injury of his own. As a result, Frankie Edgar faced off against Brian Ortega in the co-main event over the weekend.

“The Answer” had never suffered a knockout loss in his career prior to UFC 222. However, Ortega managed to finish Edgar within the first round of their octagon war.

Fighters and fight fans alike have been offering their thoughts over the internet since the shocking finish. Now Demetrious Johnson has decided to offer a few words of advice for any fighter dealing with a recent defeat.
