Three UFC Champions Agree … ‘Money Fights ‘Over ‘Contender Fights’

UFC superstar Conor McGregor never defended his featherweight title and has yet to defend his lightweight belt. Rather, “Notorious” has simply chosen to fight the matches that interest him the most.

After knocking out Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title, McGregor began his climb through the lightweight division to face off against champion Eddie Alvarez. Having never defended his featherweight title, “Notorious” was forced to vacate the belt shortly after finishing Alvarez for the lightweight championship.

McGregor then took a hiatus from the octagon to make his professional boxing debut, having never defended his UFC lightweight title. With that in mind, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, featherweight title holder Max Holloway and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier recently sat down to discuss the opportunity of fighting the No. 1 division contender as compared to taking a “money fight.”

Check out what the three champions had to say within the video above.
