Conor McGregor Officially Stripped, Immediately Falls In UFC Rankings Following Khabib’s Win Over Iaquinta

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Brooklyn, New York tonight for the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 223. Following the night’s exciting main event, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor has been stripped of his title and demoted in the official UFC rankings.

Undefeated UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov faced off against Al Iaquinta for the undisputed lightweight title. UFC President Dana White previously stated that Conor McGregor and interim champion Tony Ferguson would be stripped of their titles as soon as the match began.

With Nurmagomedov having defeated Iaquinta, the fighter was wrapped in his new UFC title and Conor McGregor was immediately displayed on the UFC broadcast as being under Khabib Nurmagomedov in the rankings and as no longer being the champion.

Nurmagomedov is now officially the new undisputed UFC lightweight champion. For the first time, McGregor is no longer at the top of the lightweight rankings.
