McGregor’s Criminal Defense Lawyer Releases Statement, Following Getting Fired By Conor

Conor McGregor’s rampage on UFC 223 wasn’t without it’s consequences. Set to return to New York courts in June to answer to 21 criminal charges, including two felonies, Conor has terminated his original choice for attorney, and hired another.

Originally represented by famed criminal lawyer Jim Walden, when he appeared for his bond last week, McGregor has now parted ways and gone with a firm that has a pretty curious name.

McGregor’s original defense attorney released the following statement after getting fired:

McGregor’s new choice of attorney is Bruce Mafeo. Mafeo successfully defended a hip hop mogul after charges emerged that the rapper hired a hit man to take out one of 50 Cent’s crew members.

Oddly, Mafeo heads up the legal firm “Cozen O’Conor”, which translated literally means, “the trick of Conor.”
