Ronda To Fans: “Hearing Me Speak Is A Privilege”

Former UFC mega-star, turned WWE superstar Ronda Rousey is back in the spotlight after a near year long absence from media and interviews, and she’s pulling no punches.

Now seemingly over her UFC defeats, Rousey has been traveling the world for the WWE’s Monday Night Raw television broadcasts.

As such, the former UFC champion is doing a ton of media and public appearances, and in the latest she explains why she doesn’t owe her public interviews and explanations.

“We live in an age of trial by Twitter. What is really gained by stating opinion on anything? It whittles people down. It gets cut and pasted 10 times and it’s in (a) headline.”

“(Famous people) keep more and more of it to themselves. Why should I talk? I believe hearing me speak is a privilege, and it’s a privilege that’s been abused, so why not revoke it from everyone? I don’t believe public criticism, beating you down, is the right thing to do.”
