With Super Fight Drawing Near, Cormier Explains Why His Confidence Is Sky High Against Miocic

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is stepping up in weight to challenge reigning UFC heavyweight title holder Stipe Miocic for his belt. Now Cormier has come forward to reveal why he feels confident that he can defeat the dominant heavyweight.

Cormier and Miocic are set to throw down at UFC 226. The highly anticipated live pay-per-view will take place July 7 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

Speaking to MMA Fighting, as seen within the video below, Cormier offered his thoughts on the upcoming match up.

“I really like the match up. He’s not this massive guy. Just because he’s fast at heavyweight doesn’t mean he’ll be fast to me. The reason I was so successful at heavyweight is because I was fast, so now he’s gonna be fighting a guy as fast as him. He has lost to Stefan Struve. If Stefan Struve can get a victory, why can’t I?”
