Dana White Isn’t Happy, Critical Over Till’s Missed Weight

Undefeated UFC welterweight Darren Till is getting some heat from fighters and fight fans alike after his recent missed weight. Now UFC President Dana White has come forward with his thoughts on the matter.

UFC Fight Night 130 is set to go down Sunday, May 27, in Till’s hometown of Liverpool, England. The undefeated fighter is set to take on two-time former title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson for the night’s main event.

However, Till missed weight by a staggering total of 3.5 pounds. Thompson has gone on to accept a catchweight match up for 30 percent of Till’s fight purse. Beyond that, Till must make 188 pounds by 1:00 pm GMT on Sunday or the fight will be off.

Speaking to BT Sport, UFC President Dana White has since come forward with his thoughts on the matter.

“It sucks. This is a big fight. It’s an important fight. Anytime a guy doesn’t make weight, especially in his hometown, it’s a bad situation. Listen, you’ve got a laundry list of excuses if you’re in (Las) Vegas or you had to fly somewhere far. You didn’t have enough time to acclimate or whatever it might be, but in you own hometown that’s a tough one.”
