Dern Promises To Remain Professional, Despite Cooper’s Trash Talk

UFC women’s strawweight Mackenzie Dern is set to face of against Amanda Cooper at UFC 224 over the weekend. Following some heated trash-talk from her opponent, Dern has come forward with a few words of her own.

The highly anticipated fight card of UFC 224 is set to go down this Saturday, May 12, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event will be featured live on pay-per-view.

Speaking at the recent UFC 224 Media Day, Dern offered her thoughts on Cooper’s trash-talk.

“I don’t feel any disrespect from Amanda Cooper.”

“But it’s different to hear the person like saying, ‘She’s not good at this. She’s not good at that.'”

“At the same time, I understand [it is] to sell the fight. Sometimes people need to put that in their minds to really have that fighting spirit. I think jiu-jitsu helped me to remain professional. If she beats me, if I beat her, I’m going to treat her the same no matter what.”
