Rising UFC star Mackenzie Dern made international headlines yesterday when she came in 8 pounds over the strawweight limit during Friday’s UFC 224 weigh ins.
It was not a good luck, as the weight discrepancy is a massive one.
The UFC presently houses 115, 125, 135, and 145 pound weight classes for their female athletes, and Dern was expected to weigh in at 115 pounds. Instead, coming in heavy, she was just two pounds shy of the next weight class up.
UFC star Felice Herrig takes issue with these circumstances, and just put Brazil’s Dern on absolute blast.
