Kelvin Gastelum Demands Title Shot, Or Will Sit Out

UFC middleweight Kelvin Gastelum is on a roll. The fighter rebounded from a tough submission loss to former champion Chris Weidmen with a brutal knockout finish over Michael Bisping. Now riding a split decision victory over Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Gastelum is looking for a title shot.

Kelvin Gastelum went toe-to-toe with “Jacare” Souza in the co-main event of UFC 224 on Saturday, May 12. The two mixed martial artists went the distance, with Gastelum ultimately earning a split decision victory over the fighter.

Speaking at the UFC 224 Post-Fight Press Conference, Gastelum revealed that he will wait for a shot at the UFC middleweight title for his next octagon performance.

“I definitely feel like a title shot should be next. I don’t think I’d accept any other fight than the title shot. I’m the most active middleweight there has been. All the guys (I’ve beat) are top-10 and former champions, so I feel like I deserve it.”

“I definitely feel I deserve the shot. So I definitely feel like I will sit out until my shot is next.”
