Rousey’s Coach Edmond Tarverdyan Set To Corner Canelo’s Replacement

WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin is gearing to for his next big performance inside the squared circle. “GGG” was originally set to take on Canelo Alvarez in a long awaited rematch.

The two pugilist phenoms first faced off inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. back in 2017. However, the fight ended in a highly controversial draw. Boxing fans have been fervently waiting for the rematch ever since.

Alvarez and Golovkin were locked in for their immediate rematch to take place May 5 inside the same T-Mobile Arena. However, Alvarez has since been suspended due to failed drug tests.

Last minute opponent Vanes Martirosyan is now set to take on the talented boxing champion for Cinco De Mayo. And, Martirosyan is bringing with him an infamous MMA notable.

Edmond Tarverdyan quickly earned an infamous reputation in the mixed martial arts community as the head coach to UFC superstar Ronda Rousey. Rousey’s own mother would even go on to heavily criticize Tarverdyan’s coaching.

However, the individual is also head coach to Martirosyan. Consequently, Tarverdyan will be cornering Martirosyan during the boxer’s highest profile fight ever.
