After 18 Month Layoff, Benavidez Loses In Return Against Pettis | UFC Results

The United Center in Chicago, Illinois is hosting a stunning night of fights over the weekend. Now the latest fight card from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is going down inside the octagon.

The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is in “The Windy City” on Saturday, June 9, for the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 225. Continuing the night of fights, Team Alpha Male’s Joseph Benavidez and fellow flyweight Sergio Pettis are going toe-to-toe in a battle for division dominance. The first fired off with a furry. Benavidez rocked Pettis with a series of strikes that sent the fighter stumbling. However, Pettis managed to recover and take the fight to the canvas.

The second round picked up at a similar pace, as Pettis began committing on combinations against his opponent. However, Benavidez managed to control much of the match from the fence.

Benavidez came out in the final round with a vengeance. The fighter began landing brutal spinning back fists and swift head kicks.

Benavidez and Pettis decided to keep things on the feet for the final round, exchanging in a series of brawls. Then within the final minute of the fight, Benavidez managed to get a quick takedown on his opponent. However, neither fighter was able to get a finish.

This one has gone the distance.
