Daniel Cormier Says He’s Planning On “Out Striking” Stipe Miocic, In New Pre-Fight Statement

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is moving up in weight to take on reigning UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. Now Cormier is claiming that he plans to out perform Miocic in the stand up game.

Stipe Miocic is a former Cleveland Golden Gloves boxing champion, as well as a former NCAA Division I wrestler at Cleveland State. With that in mind, former NCAA Division I All-American Daniel Cormier believes he can outstrike his opponent come fight night.

Taking to Instagram, Cormier stated:

“I’m gonna out jab and out strike @stipemiocic on July 7th. New heavyweight champion #Andnew #ufc226”

The two mixed martial artists will finally get to put it all on the line at UFC 226. The highly anticipated fight card will take place July 7 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. UFC 226 will be available live on pay-per-view.
