Darren Elkins Proves That The UFC Rankings Are A Complete And Total Joke

UFC featherweight Darren Elkins has found himself on an impressive six fight winning streak inside the octagon. Despite wins over the likes of No. 7 ranked Mirsad Bektic, Elkins remains in the No. 10 spot within the official rankings.

The official UFC division and pound-for-pound rankings are decided based on a voting process. Here is the UFC’s official explanation of the procedure:

“Rankings were generated by a voting panel made up of media members. The media members were asked to vote for who they feel are the top fighters in the UFC by weight-class and pound-for-pound. A fighter is only eligible to be voted on if they are in active status in the UFC. A fighter can appear in more than one weight division at a time. The champion and interim champion are considered to be in the top positions of their respective divisions and therefore are not eligible for voting by weight-class. However, the champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.”

With that in mind, Elkins has found himself in the No. 10 position. Check out the fighter’s thoughts on the matter within the social media post below:

“I’m on a 6 fight win streak. Mirsad Bektic -knocked him out. Also beat Dennis Bermudez and Michael Johnson #ufcrankings how am I still ranked #10?”
