McGregor To Welterweight? Conor Continues To Put On Size Ahead Of UFC Return

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor has not compete inside the octagon since 2016. However, the UFC superstar has hardly been sitting idle on the sidelines.

Conor McGregor first shocked the world by knocking out Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds for the featherweight title. The Ireland native then moved up to the lightweight division to finish Eddie Alvarez for his championship belt.

Since then, Conor McGregor has gone to social media to reveal that he was initially set to face off on the UFC 224 card in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 12. The news confirms a previous rumor that “Notorious” would have competed against Rafael dos Anjos for the interim welterweight title at the event.

Rather, dos Anjos went on to face Colby Covington at UFC 225 for the interim title.

“Made it to number 4 on the Forbes list this year. If I had of fought on the agreed May 12th bout in Rio De Janeiro, I would have surpassed Ronaldo and Messi to take 2nd place. Something came up however… Ah well, still under 30.”

Now taking to Twitter, Conor McGregor has decided to share a photo of himself with his son. Within the photo, “Notorious” can be seen looking to have gained some serious mass. It would appear that the mixed martial artist may still be planning a trip to the welterweight division.
