Next Week’s Stacked UFC 226 Event Just Lost A Marquee Bout On A Week’s Notice

The highly anticipated fight card for UFC 226 is perhaps the most stacked event the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is preparing for this year. That being said, it would appear that the fight card is now short one of its marquee match ups.

UFC 226 takes place July 7, as part of International Fight Week. The exciting event will go down within the highly acclaimed T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev and will be featured live on pay-per-view.

Headlining the night’s event, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be challenging reigning UFC heavyweight title holder Stipe Miocic for his belt in an amazing super fight. Meanwhile, UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway will be putting his title on the line in an octagon war against rising undefeated challenger Brian Ortega.

Initially featured on the night’s card, UFC welterweights Yancy Medeiros and knockout artist Mike Perry were set to throw down for the Las Vegas crowd. However, it has since been reported by MMA Junkie that Yancy Medeiros has pulled out of the fight after suffering a displaced fracture.
