“Raging” Al Pulls Out Of Upcoming Main Event, Expecting UFC Release

While Al Iaquinta was initially set to compete in the headliner for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s highly anticipated UFC Fight Night 135 card, new reports are claiming that the mixed martial artist has since dropped out of the event.

Al Iaquinta was locked in to fight Justin Gaethje for the main event of UFC Fight Night 135. The fight card is set to take place Aug. 25 from within the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska.

ESPN’s Ariel Helwani has since taken to social media to report that Al Iaquinta is no longer fighting Gaethje in the night’s event. Iaquinta told the UFC of his decision, but the reasons for the decision have yet to be revealed.

Later. Iaquinta posted that “When they cut me I’m going to Japan,” later adding “Where they appreciate fighters.” It would appear that the ranked lightweight is perhaps expecting to be cut from the UFC roster and intends to take his talents elsewhere.
