Gina Carano Gives Herself Props For Being MMA’s First

Women’s mixed martial arts trailblazer Gina Carano put on a dominant performance in her illustrious career. The fighter quickly became a superstar among fans of the sport, earning many accolades along the way.

Among them, Gina Carano was the first of many MMA competitors to land a spot on the ESPN’s “Body Issue.”

“Body Issue” is a magazine edition by ESPN that features nude photo shoots of popular professional athletes as a celebration of the human form. Carano would go on to be featured in “Body Issue. Other fighters to later follow suit include Michelle Waterson, Miesha Tate, Cris Cyborg, Jon Jones and Conor McGregor.
