He’s Back! The Original CM Punk Killer, Mickey Gall Books His Long Awaited UFC Return

The man originally tasked with taking on CM Punk, Mickey Gall has booked his return to UFC action.

Gall has been booked opposite George Sullivan, and will look to bounce back from his very first professional loss, suffered last November at UFC 217.

The local media in Lincoln Nebraska was first to report the bout:

Two more fights have been added the UFC Fight Night card, set for Aug. 25 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Mickey Gall will meet George Sullivan in a welterweight bout and Cory Sandhagen and Iuri Alcantara will meet in a bantamweight bout.

Gall is 3-1 since joining the UFC in 2016. Among his victories is a first-round submission win over former WWE wrestler CM Punk in 2016.

Gall will meet a veteran in the 37-year-old Sullivan, who is 17-6.

Alcantara owns a 35-9 record. His most recent fight, a knockout victory over Joe Soto in February, earned Performance of the Night honors. His bantamweight opponent, Sandhagen, is 8-1, and won his UFC debut in January.

There are 10-known fights on the UFC Fight Night Lincoln card, including the main event, which pits two top-10 fights in Justin Gaethje and James Vick.

Gaethje is ranked No. 7 in the lightweight division, and Vick is 11th.
