Following Title Ending Loss To Henry Cejudo, Demetrious Johnson Now Facing Indefinite Medical Suspension

Former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson faced the end of his dominant title reign back at UFC 227. Now it would appear that the fighter has suffered a large medical suspension following the five round octagon war.

“Mighty Mouse” faced off against Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo in a title fight rematch for the co-main event of UFC 227 on Aug. 4. The two mixed martial artists ultimately went the distance, with Cejudo earning a split decision victory over his opponent.

As reported by MMA Junkie, the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has since suspended Demetrious Johnson indefinitely. Demetrious Johnson claims he injured his lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in the fight, leading to the suspension.

In order to be removed from the ABC database that tracks fighters’ medical suspensions, “Mighty Mouse” will now have to be cleared by a medical doctor rather than wait out his initially dealt seven day medical suspension.
