That Awkward Moment When You See Dana White After Starting A UFC Fighter’s Union

Unions and associations are often utilized tools for sport or group members to attempt to achieve a more sensible equality within their field. While boxing may have The Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act, nothing so similar yet exists for fighters competing within the sport of mixed martial arts.

Former UFC competitor and military veteran Tim Kennedy would go on to take front and center in the launching of the MMA Athletes Association (MMAAA). The organization worked to earn fighters rights to larger paydays and more reasonable expectations from promoters.

With the creation of a fighter association, Kennedy was bound to butt heads with some of the UFC’s notables. One of the fighter’s most awkward moments was Kennedy’s first time coming face to face with UFC President Dana White after helping helm the association.
