Report: UFC Working On UFC 230 Jon Jones Headliner

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones failed yet another drug test following his latest octagon performance. While the former title holder is currently awaiting USADA’s decision on the matter, UFC welterweight Colby Covington believes “Bones” Jones may be headlining UFC 230.

Jon Jones failed a drug test for UFC 214. Consequently, the fighter could face a lengthy suspension from USADA. However, the anti-doping agency has yet to issue a verdict concerning the matter.

Meanwhile, UFC 230 is set to take place Nov. 3 from within the illustrious Madison Square Garden arena in New York. The live pay-per-view event will feature Nate Diaz’s highly anticipated octagon return against Dustin Poirier in the night’s co-main event. However, a headliner has yet to be announced for the fast approaching card.

Speaking to journalist Luke Thomas, Colby Covington recently revealed his thoughts on UFC 230 being headlines by Jon Jones.

“I haven’t heard it. I’ve just been seeing it through the media and other places. I haven’t heard directly from the UFC that they want to book it, but I’m sure that behind the scenes something like that is going on because they don’t have a main event.

“They’ve got to fill up a big name on that marquee event, so they are probably trying to get him. If he falls through, I’m going to be there to save the day.”
