Valentina Still Wants To Fight, Accepts Short Notice Challenge From Fellow UFC Fighter

Former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Valentina Shevchenko was initially set to face reigning UFC women’s flyweight title holder Nicco Montano for her belt this weekend. With the fight no longer happening, “Bullet” has a new opponent in mind.

Shevchenko and Montano were initially set to throw down in the co-main event of UFC 228. The live pay-per-view event will take place this Saturday, Sept. 8, in Dallas, Texas.

It was recently reported, however, that Nicco Montano has been pulled from the match up. The reigning champion was rushed to a nearby hospital on Friday, Sept. 7, after suffering issues with her kidneys.

Taking to Twitter, UFC women’s flyweight Katlyn Chookagian has since voiced that she is currently in Dallas, Texas.

“I’m in Dallas right now”

Over the social media platform, Valentina Shevchenko has now come forward to show her interest in taking on the fighter. Check it out below.

“.@blondefighter call @Mickmaynard2 now if you can make championship weight. Let’s make this title fight happen.”
