Dillon Danis Releases Official Statement, Refutes Khabib’s Excuse On Start Of Brawl

Undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov leaped out of the octagon on Saturday night directly after submitting Conor McGregor for a massive victory back at UFC 229. In a furry, the reigning champion attacked Conor McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis.

A fracas quickly erupted between the training camps of the two fighters. Accusations would later be made that Khabib Nurmagomedov was provoked by Dillon Danis, as Danis allegedly made religious slurs at the champion during the fight.

Speaking to ESPN, Dillon Danis has since come forward to deny the allegations.

“Khabib fans are attempting to smear me in an attempt to justify his actions. I have never and would never denigrate anyone’s religion. I look forward to the results of the Nevada Gaming Commission [sic]’s investigation which will reject this bulls*it claim and put the blame where it belongs.”
