Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is currently set to make his massive octagon return. Now the fighter’s upcoming opponent has come forward with a statement concerning the matter.

Alexander Gustafsson and Jon Jones have faced off inside the octagon once before. The fight went the distance, with “Bones” Jones ultimately earning a unanimous decision victory over his opponent.

Now Gustafsson and Jones are set to fight for the UFC light heavyweight title within the main event of UFC 232. The event will take place Dec. 29 from within the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

Speaking to the UFC, Alexander Gustafsson has since come forward to show his motivation to avenge his previous loss to the former title holder.

“Even if I lost that fight, I gained so much from it. After the fight, I knew I had the right skills and I’m on his level.”
