Still Under USADA Suspension, Former Champ Fabricio Werdum Now Set To Return To Grappling | UFC News

Earlier this year, former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum failed a drug test. While the former title holder is currently sidelined from the UFC over a lenghty suspension, Werdum has now signed up for an upcoming grappling competition.

Fabricio Werdum failed an out-of-competition urine test dated April 25, 2018 for trenbolone and its metabolite epitrenbolone. Consequently, Werdum has been issued a two-year suspension from the sport. The former UFC heavyweight champion will once again be eligible to compete on May 22, 2020.

Meanwhile, the final leg of the 2018 Spyder Invitational BJJ Championship is set to take place Nov. 3, 2018. As reported by FloCombat, Fabricio Werdum is now set to take on Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa in a no-gi grappling super-bout.
