The UFC To Reduce Pay-Per-View Broadcasts In 2019

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be ending its broadcasting contract with FOX at the end of this year. Picking up in 2019, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion will be starting up a massive broadcast deal with ESPN.

The UFC struck a deal with ESPN that offers their broadcast rights in exchange for a massive $1.5 billion contract. That being said, it would appear that the news is not all good for fight fans.

The UFC typically runs 13 live pay-per-view events a year. However, TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter recently sat down with UFC SVP of International and Content David Shaw. Shaw revealed that the UFC will only be delivering 12 PPV events per year beginning in 2019.
