UFC Insider Believes The UFC May Be Trying To Shut Down The Men’s Flyweight Division

Henry Cejudo shocked the world when he defeated Demetrious Johnson for the UFC flyweight belt back at UFC 227. That being said, former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz believes that the promotion may be considering ending the flyweight division all together.

Henry Cejudo and reigning UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw are reportedly looking to face off in a super-fight. Speaking on the matter, Dominick Cruz recently offered his thoughts to ESPN.

“The fact there trying to make a fight with Cejudo tells me one thing. It’s a guess, but they have to be shutting down the 125 pound division. Why would you make a fight with Cejudo to come up? That legitimately will kill the 125 pound division in itself, letting him move up to 135 pounds and possibly winning the title. They’ve got to be setting up to kill that division. It’s the only thing I can think of.”
