And Another One… UFC Cuts Fourth Fighter From Roster In Just Two Days | UFC News

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has seemingly lost a series of fighters over the past days. Now another competitor can be added to the list.

UFC News

Former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson was recently traded to ONE Championship in a historic deal. Since then, the UFC has reportedly been dissolving the promotion’s 125 pound division by cutting a series of fighters from the roster.

The UFC first cut UFC flyweight Jose Torres from the roster. Later, fellow flyweight Jarred Brooks revealed that he has also been released from his UFC contract.

Meanwhile, UFC lightweight Lando Vannata has decided not to renew his contract with the UFC and is now testing free agency. Within just a matter of days, three competitors within the promotion have been removed from the roster. Now there’s a fourth.

Taking to Instagram, UFC flyweight Roberto Sanchez has come forward to announce that he has also been released from the UFC. Check it out below.

“o my supporters, I got the call yesterday and was told that the UFC flyweight division was being scrapped. Long story short, I was let go. I was surprised too, I had always thought layoffs were reserved for Fridays! All jokes aside, I want to thank the UFC for the 3 fights I had with them. I understand why they made their decision. It just saddens me to know I will have to look elsewhere to fight the best in the world! Naturally, my actuarial side is profoundly measuring the risk of continuing on but also will I have regrets if I stop now?

“God has always blessed me throughout my MMA journey so I’ll just have to wait and see what doors he opens for me. For now, I’m looking forward to spending more time with my wife, my kids, my family, my friends, and my Houston MMA/BJJ family. Love you all! Littlefury #FormerUFCfighter #gladiatorforlife”
