Bellator Boss Scott Coker Speaks Out Against The UFC’s Deal With Reebok

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) locked in a uniform deal with sports apparel company Reebok. As a result, octagon competitors are required to wear Reebok gear during their fights and are not permitted to wear other sponsored gear. Now, competing mixed martial arts promotion Bellator MMA has no such uniform deal. The fighters for Bellator MMA are free to acquire their own sponsorship deals inside the cage.

Bellator MMA president Scott Coker recently told ozy.com, “The Reebok deal is not healthy. Telling [the fighters] what to wear, what they can put on? No. We’re happy for our fighters to make money by fighting here.”
