Demetrious Johnson (born August 13, 1986) is an American mixed martial artist (MMA). He is the first and the current Flyweight Champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Johnson currently holds the longest active championship reign at eleven title defenses, beating Anderson Silva’s record at UFC 216 when he submitted Ray Borg. He is also the #1 ranked pound for pound MMA fighter in the world.

“I started training to fight in October of 2005. I was watching the first season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ (TUF) and I liked how they were in shape. I always liked to be healthy, so the training regime intrigued me. Reese Andy was the one who influenced me to sign up with AMC (with legendary coach Matt Hume) and then it’s just taken off from there.” Johnson said when first signing with the UFC.
