Jon Jones (born July 19, 1987) is an American mixed martial artist (MMA), who is a three-time Light Heavyweight Champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), having won the title in 2011 and 2017, in addition to the interim light heavyweight title in 2016. Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. The former champion was ranked number one in the world during his championship reign and currently has the longest active winning streak in the UFC.
Jones is currently dealing with problems stemming from a failed USADA drug test following his return fight against Daniel Cormier at UFC 214. The win has been overturned to a “No Contest” and Jones is now trying to get the whole situation resolved.
“Fighting was something inside of me that I didn’t realize was there, I think about this a lot. Fighting is not what I do—it’s who I am. It’s what I was meant to do, what I was meant to be. I knew that right after my first MMA practice.” Jones said in an interview when discussing his place in the sport.
