Urijah Faber (born May 14, 1979) is an American retired mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter who fought in both the bantamweight and featherweight divisions in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Faber was also the longtime WEC featherweight champion, holding the title for over two years until losing it to Mike Brown in 2008. Urijah Faber is widely regarded as being a pioneer for the lighter weight classes in MMA, thus making him one of the most popular fighters in the UFC.

Faber is also the captain of the famed “Team Alpha Male,” which happens to be one of the most successful teams in MMA.

“It was definitely ahead of the trend. I actually wasn’t a big-name fighter when I started the gym. I was fighting locally for the smaller organizations. I started to build up more notoriety around the same time that I was creating the gym.” Faber told Forbes in an earlier interview.
