Aldo Promises Better Performance In Holloway Rematch: ‘I’m motivated and focused to win’

Jose Aldo is ready to make yet another attempt to claim the featherweight title. The former champion suffered a loss to Conor McGregor back at UFC 194, losing the fight his title. However, Aldo claimed the title once again after McGregor was stripped of the featherweight belt for becoming the lightweight champion.

Interim featherweight champion Max Holloway then faced off in a title unification match against Aldo at UFC 212. Unfortunately for Aldo, things did not go the fighter’s way. Holloway earned a TKO victory over Jose Aldo, unifying Holloway’s title. That being said, Aldo now has another chance for redemption.

After Frankie Edgar was pulled from the event due to an injury, Holloway was left without an opponent for his first title defense at UFC 218. Stepping up on short notice, Aldo is now set to rematch the reigning champion in the night’s headliner. Speaking on today’s UFC 218 media conference call, Jose Aldo explained how things will be different this time around.

“The rematch is going to be different because I’m motivated, I’m very well trained right now, and I’m focused.”

UFC 218 goes down Dec. 2 inside the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The event will be featured live on pay-per-view.
