Dana White Issues Statement On The Repeated Use Of Homophobic Slurs From UFC Fighters

Multiple fighters from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) have been caught on camera using homophobic slurs as of late. UFC superstar Conor McGregor referred to Andre Fili as a “f***ot” backstage at UFC Fight Night 118 to Artem Lobov.

Beyond that, Jorge Masvidal recently called UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping a “f***ot” during a heated altercation in a hotel.

Now UFC President Dana White has come forward to give his thoughts on the matter. Speaking to TMZ Sports, Dana White had the following the say concerning Conor McGregor’s recent use of a homophobic slur.

“We’ve had a problem with that lately. It’s more than him, we’ve had a problem with that. It’s a thing you have to educate people on, and I’ve had my history with it myself. So it’s definitely a problem, and it’s something we need to focus on.”

Speaking on McGregor’s apology and if he believes the apology was enough, White added:

“What else are you gonna do? If you apologize and that’s not enough, what else can you do, you know what I mean? You can donate money, you can…whatever. I don’t know.”
