UFC President Dana White confirmed that the world’s largest Mixed Martial Arts promotion is in negotiations with boxing’s Floyd Mayweather, and now UFC fighters around the globe are reacting to the news.
Yesterday when Joe Rogan revealed what he knew about the situation, stating, “Dana told me that Floyd wants to make a deal in the UFC, like legitimately,” not many people thought he was serious.
However, now UFC president Dana White confirms Joe’s words, and revealed what’s really going on.
Dana White told ESPN that there’s truth the rumors of Floyd Mayweather coming to the UFC and said, “We’re talking to Floyd about doing a UFC deal. It’s real. He was talking about [boxing] Conor McGregor. Was that real? Have you heard Floyd talk about many things that aren’t real? He usually tips his hand when he’s in the media, and then that s— ends up happening.
The UFC boss continued to confirm that it’s a real possibility.
“We’re interested in doing something with Floyd. Everything is a realistic possibility. Mayweather vs. McGregor f—ing happened. Anything is possible.”
Last week Mayweather spoke about the possibly fighting in the octagon.
“They just called me not too long ago and asked me to come back . I can come right back. If I wanted to, I can come right back to the UFC. I can go fight in the Octagon. I can do a three- or four-fight deal in the Octagon and make a billion dollars. Remember, I’m Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.”
