McGregor’s Camp Releases Official Statement On Recent Arrest Of Conor

While Conor McGregor took over the world of mixed martial arts with his 13 second knockout over Jose Aldo and his historical lightweight title earning victory over Eddie Alvarez, the Irish native has been making headlines for other reasons as of late. Now the fighter’s manager has come forward with a statement concerning McGregor’s recent incident.

“Notorious” made a surprise appearance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, April 5. Taking a large entourage with him, McGregor made his way to a loading dock within the center and allegedly attacked a bus filled with red corner fighters set to compete at UFC 223.

The target of the attack was reportedly undefeated UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov, who slapped McGregor’s teammate Artem Lobov in a hotel days earlier. Multiple fighters were injured in the fracas, forcing Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg to pull out of their respective UFC 223 match ups.

After turning himself in to local authorities, Conor McGregor is now facing multiple misdemeanor assault charges and a felony charge of criminal mischief. “Notorious” has since been arraigned and has made his $50,000 bail. Free to travel internationally, the fighter recently made a trip back to his native Ireland.

Taking to Twitter, McGregor’s manager Audie Attar has issued an official statement concerning the recent fracas. Check it out below:

Conor McGregor is due back in court June 14.
